"Hands on Training on Quantitative Real Time PCR for diagnosis of Brucellosis"

A three day training “Hands on Training on Quantitative Real Time PCR for diagnosis of Brucellosis” organized by Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) - DBT Network Project on Brucellosis during 2nd to 4th June,2014 at NIVEDI, Bangalore.

A total of 22 candidates across the country including one PI, two Co-PIs, three Scientists and sixteen RA/SRF participated in the training. Dr. Rajeswari Shome Course Director while welcoming Chief guest, Chairman and others, briefed about the training program. Dr. V. V.S Suryanarayanan, Emiratus Scientist, IVRI the Chief Guest released the Laboratory manual and highlighted the importance of Brucella diagnosis in his address. Director, NIVEDI, in his remarks encouraged the participants for their active involvement in the training and assured full support to all. The marathon session of 6 theory classes and 6 practical classes covering various aspects of Real Time PCR for Brucella diagnosis was performed for three days.



Dr. Shaikh Shah Hussain CDC, New Delhi, graced the valedictory session as a Chief Guest. Dr. Rajeswari Shome welcomed and gave a brief report on training. Director NIVEDI in his remarks appreciated the successful completion of the training program.
